Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Assistants for our Before and After School Program at Roaring Brook Elementary School, Grafflin Elementary School, and Westorchard Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a part-time, non-exempt position with a pay rate of $17.00 per hour and a schedule that follows the school calendar, including morning and/or afternoon sessions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or at least 1 year of experience with children under 13.
• Must pass health clearance including TB screening per state regulations.
• Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills and reliability.
• Ability to bend, lift up to 50 pounds and actively engage with children.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities from the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, arts, homework).
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and be a positive role model.
• Follow state guidelines, program policies, and host school policies.
• Assist with attendance records, registrations, and staffing tasks.

PAY RATE:

$17.00 per hour

SCHEDULE

Follows the school calendar

Morning Program: 7:30 - 9:00 am

Afternoon Program: 2:55 - 5:15 pm

Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Position Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands‑on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, OR at least 1 year of experience working with children under the age of 13.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.
