Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking School-Age Childcare Staff to support our Before and After School Program at Frelinghuysen Elementary School in Newton, NJ. This part-time, non-exempt role follows the school calendar with morning and/or afternoon shifts.

You will engage children ages 5–12 in activities, monitor safety, and model positive behavior while collaborating with a mission-driven team. Employer-paid childcare and flexible hours aligned with the school day make this role especially

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum including fitness, STEAM, academic, art and homework completion.
• Providing a safe, healthy and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children.
• Observing state guidelines, program policies and host school regulations.
• Some positions may perform attendance records, registration and staffing tasks.

PAY RATE:

$16.00 per hour

SCHEDULE

Follows the school calendar

Morning Program: 7:30 - 8:30 am

Afternoon Program: 3:15 - 6:15 pm

Opportunities available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Candidates must successfully pass all required state background checks.
• Requires the ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
• The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues, along with a consistent record of reliability and punctuality.
