Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Site Director for our After School Program at AJ Smith Elementary School in Union Springs, NY for the 2026–2027 school year.

The position is part-time, non-exempt with a pay rate of $17.00 per hour, following the school calendar (2:30–6:00 pm). Ideal candidates have appropriate education/credentials and supervisory experience.

Position Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands‑on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.

• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Candidates May Qualify With Any Of The Following

• Associate degree in any field, plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Two years of college with 18 credits, plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• NY State Children’s Program Administrator Credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• School-Age Child Care Credential or equivalent office-recognized credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.

Examples Of Relevant Experience

• Experience Working with Children: May include babysitting, recreational programs, youth organizations, schools, and other settings involving the supervision of children.
• Supervisory Experience: Experience supervising staff in schools, Head Start programs, and other related child‑serving environments may also be considered.

• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
