Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking a part-time, non-exempt role to oversee after-school activities in the Pittsburgh area. You will lead hands-on activities, ensure safety and positive role modeling, and help children learn through play and structured programs.

The position aligns with school-day schedules, offers employer-paid childcare, and includes benefits like telehealth, dental coverage, and paid sick time.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Must pass a full background check including fingerprinting and references.
• Must be medically fit to perform duties including a clear TB.
• Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities and homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Morning Program: 7:00 AM – 9:30 AM

Afternoon Program: 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM

Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Requirements

Education and Experience

Candidate Must Possess One Of The Following

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field
• Bachelor’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 1 year of relevant experience
• Associate’s degree in the above fields plus 2 years of relevant experience
• Associate’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 3 years of relevant experience
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials plus 2 years of relevant experience

Relevant experience includes: working with school‑age children in after‑school programs, summer camps, classrooms, or similar settings, including planning activities, supervising groups, and supporting social‑emotional and academic growth.
