Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Lead for our Before and After School Program at Bethel Elementary School in Bethel, PA for the 2026-2027 school year.

The role involves supervising activities, providing a safe and engaging environment, and serving as a positive role model for children ages 5-12. Part-time, non-exempt position with pay of $16.00 per hour, following the school calendar.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.
• Bachelor’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 1 year of relevant experience.
• Associate’s degree in the above fields plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• Associate’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 3 years of relevant experience.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials plus 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art and homework.
• Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.

Morning Program: 7:00 AM - 8:35 AM

Afternoon Program: 3:20 PM-6:30 PM

Requirements

Education and Experience

Candidate must possess one of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field
• Bachelor’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 1 year of relevant experience
• Associate’s degree in the above fields plus 2 years of relevant experience
• Associate’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 3 years of relevant experience
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials plus 2 years of relevant experience

Relevant experience includes

working with school-age children in after-school programs, summer camps, classrooms, or similar settings, including planning activities, supervising groups, and supporting social‑emotional and academic growth.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age
• Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
• Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.
• Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
