Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Lead for our Before and After School Program at Bethel Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year.

This part-time, non-exempt role follows the school calendar, with Morning Program (7:00 AM–8:35 AM) and Afternoon Program (3:20 PM–6:30 PM). Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess one of the listed education options.
• Experience with school-age children in after-school settings is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work mornings and/or afternoons, following the school calendar.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate activities aligned with the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academics, art, and homework).
• Provide a safe, healthy, fun environment and model positive behavior for children.
• Observe host school policies and program guidelines; may assist with attendance and staffing.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education

Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of relevant experience

Associate’s degree in the above fields plus 2 years of relevant experience

Associate’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience

Child Development Associate credentials plus 2 years of relevant experience

Position Responsibilities

The Before and After School Program team is responsible for:

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.

Requirements

Education and Experience

Candidate must possess one of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field
• Bachelor’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 1 year of relevant experience
• Associate’s degree in the above fields plus 2 years of relevant experience
• Associate’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 3 years of relevant experience
• Child Development Associate credentials plus 2 years of relevant experience

Relevant experience includes: working with school-age children in after-school programs, summer camps, classrooms, or similar settings, including planning activities, supervising groups, and supporting social-emotional and academic growth.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age
• Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
• Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.
• Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
