Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Lead for our Before and After School Program at Pittsburgh Manchester Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time, non-exempt role follows the school calendar with morning and/ or afternoon shifts (7:00–9:00 and 3:45–6:00).

You will lead activities, foster a safe, engaging environment, and support children's learning through play, with an emphasis on teamwork with families and peers.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience includes working with school-age children in after-school programs, summer camps, classrooms, or similar settings, including planning activities, supervising groups, and supporting social-emotional and academic growth.
• Education and background checks: must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks.
• Must be 18 years of age and medically fit to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children.
• Observe state guidelines, program policies, and host school rules.
• Support program operations, including attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Bachelor’s degree in ECE / Child Development / Special Ed / Elementary Ed or Human Services

Bachelor’s with 30 credits in above fields + 1 year experience

Child Development Associate (CDA) + 2 years experience
