Job summary

Hayden School District RE-1 is seeking an Activity Small Vehicle Driver to safely transport students to athletic events, field trips, and other school functions using district-approved small vehicles. You will follow district policies, traffic laws, and safety procedures while maintaining passenger safety and positive conduct.

Responsibilities include pre- and post-trip inspections, accurate trip records, and timely communication with staff regarding schedules, delays, or concerns.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Pass a criminal background check before hire.
• Possess CPR and First Aid certifications or be in training.
• Pass annual written and driving performance test.
• Submit to a Motor Vehicle Records check annually.
• Meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool.

Responsibilities

• Transporting passengers in a safe and timely manner in all weather conditions.
• Observe safe driving practices.
• Educate passengers on rules and maintain positive student relations.
• Assist students with loading and unloading the vehicle.
• Maintain district regulations regarding student conduct and report issues as needed.
• Comply with state and district vehicle operation rules.
• Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Submit repair requests and reports promptly.
• Clean vehicle after trips as required.
• Report unsafe routes or hazards to scheduler/Transportation Director.
• Provide trip details and scheduling information to dispatcher.
• Complete annual paperwork as required by state and district.
