Overview

Responsible for the daily operations of the arena, including butnot limited to ice maintenance, cleaning, event set up/break down,equipment repairs and upkeep, and all other assigned duties tomaintain the safe and effective operation of Schneider Arena. Responsible for compliance with all NCAA and Providence Collegerules and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Daily maintenance of the ice surface including operation ofZamboni and edger operation, and removal and installation of icesurface. (40%)
2. Clean locker rooms, hallways, lobby, bathrooms, and spectatorseating. (30%)
3. Perform event set up and break down. (20%)
4. Off-season work includes painting, general repairs, and heavycleaning. (10%)

Education and Experience

• High school diploma
• At least two years of experience in an arena or sports venuewith familiarity in ice equipment and operation or an equivalentcombination of education and experience.
• Strong customer service skills required
• Knowledge of ice arena operations, activities, andmaintenance
• Knowledge of basic computer tasks and email correspondence
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety principals andprocedures
• Ability to work independently or with others to accomplishassigned tasks
• Ability to establish and maintain effective workingrelationships with co-workers
• Ability to walk, stand, kneel, sit, or bend for prolongedperiods of time
• Ability to maintain a physical condition necessary to operateequipment effectively and to perform moderate to heavy lifting
• Ability to work nights and weekends
