Job summary

TelevisaUnivision, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduling Coordinator to support Noticias 24/7, a 24/7 News streaming channel on VIX. The role ensures accurate programming, metadata, and on-air integrity across on-site and remote workflows.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years in program scheduling or related areas, is deadline-driven, and comfortable learning scheduling systems to deliver a flawless viewer experience. On-call duties after hours/weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in broadcast/cable television or digital environment.
• Minimum 3 years of Program Scheduling, Playlist Management, Media Planning or Promo Scheduling experience.
• Self-starter, resourceful and able to work under pressure across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all long-form programming for streaming news based on supervisor direction.
• Develop fluency in scheduling software and workflows for flawless on-air experience.
• Create and edit content metadata in systems as needed.
• Generate and maintain 24-hour and weekly schedule grids for distribution.
• Prepare and distribute weekly programming notifications and updates.
• Maintain distribution lists for programming department.
• Set formats on grid-level and for live/server events; review quarterly for revisions.
• Cut clips from programs for reruns and social media distribution.
• Monitor network playout and adjust for breaking news or issues.
• Be on-call after hours/weekends to revise playlists and support News team.
• Produce work orders for promotional materials and schedules.
• Schedule short form elements like promos and crawls; track campaigns with AS-RUNS.
• Collaborate with News Production, Art, Ad Sales, Marketing, and Content Management.
• Perform ad-hoc assignments as needed.

Job description

TelevisaUnivision is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduling Coordinator to support Noticias 24/7, a News streaming channel on our streaming service, VIX. This position plays an essential role in ensuring the integrity of the streaming service to deliver viewer satisfaction.

About You

The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented and deadline-driven, as well as very comfortable learning and using program scheduling and playout systems both on-site and remotely. As this is a 24-hour a day news service, this individual would be on-call to support breaking news or off-hour playlist changes as needed.

YOUR DAY-DAY:

• Schedule all long-form programming for streaming news service based on strategic direction from supervisor.
• Develop fluency in using the scheduling software and executing workflows for a flawless on-air experience.
• Create, capture, and edit all content metadata in systems as needed.
• Generate and maintain schedule grids (24 hour and weekly) for internal distribution and on Sharepoint.
• Help prepare and distribute weekly programming notifications, such as premieres, TV listings and updates.
• Maintain internal and external distribution lists for programming department.
• Create, maintain, and set program formats on the grid level as well as live or server events. Review formats on a quarterly basis and make recommendations for revisions as needed to support business objectives.
• Cutting clips from the programs to create segments for program reruns and preparing clips for social media distribution.
• Monitor the Network Playout and adjust as needed for breaking news and content issues.
• Be available on call after hours and weekends as necessary to revise playlist, trigger breaking news or support News team needs.
• Produce work orders for promotional materials that communicate strategy, objectives and deadlines.
• Schedule all short form elements including promos, graphics, news briefs and crawls.
• Execute and track promotional and advertising campaigns for internal and external clients and generate reports (AS-RUNS).
• Partner with News Production, Art Department, Ad Sales, Marketing, Business Affairs and Content Management.
• Perform ad-hoc assignments as needed.

YOU HAVE: (aka Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a broadcast/cable television or digital environment.
• Minimum 3 years of Program Scheduling, Playlist Management, Media Planning, Promo Scheduling or similar experience
• Self-starter, resourceful, adaptable and able to work well under pressure and on multiple projects at the same time.
• Ability to be on-call after regular business hours and weekends.
