Job summary

Hunt Regional Healthcare is seeking a patient registration specialist to support front-end operations in radiology. You will register patients, collect co-pays, obtain required authorizations, and schedule exams while ensuring accurate input and compliance with payor guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Register patients with correct account information.
• Obtain signatures and order radiologic exams.
• Schedule appointments and provide patient estimates.
• Assist with front-end collections and cash handling.
• Ensure compliance with payor guidelines and HIPAA standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients and insurance providers.
• Maintain patient information accuracy and privacy.
• Obtain authorizations for exams when required.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the registration of patients with a focus on customer service, ordering exams, gathering information, scheduling appointments, up front collections and the ability to interpret and ensure compliance with payor guidelines for accurate input. Duties may also include calling on Insurance and getting authorazations for exams.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education: High School graduate or equivalent.

Minimum Work Experience: Prior experience involving public contact.

Required Licenses/Certifications: None

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Ability to interpret and generate written correspondence utilizing proper grammar, spelling and composition skills. Ability to operate office equipment, such as copy machine and fax machine. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Good communication skills essential.

• 11. Performs other tasks and assists in other areas as assigned and needed by the Supervisor, Coordinator, Director and Assistant Director of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiologist or Administrator within our Hospital District. Performs any other tasks to fill the need of the department, hospital and its patients.
