Job summary

Energy Transfer LP is seeking a Gas Scheduler to coordinate the scheduling of natural gas with traders and schedulers, ensuring accurate activity on pipelines in support of the trading organization. The role requires understanding gas movements, contracts and tariffs, with a focus on timely verification and cross-functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and 2–5 years of analytical experience in gas scheduling, plus proficiency in Excel and Word.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, engineering or related field.
  • 2-5 years of analytical experience with natural gas, gas scheduling, tariffs, contracts and/or gas accounting.
  • 2+ years in gas scheduling or related area.
  • Some travel required.
  • Required to rotate on-call duties with evening/weekend hours and holiday coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule natural gas with traders, originators and schedulers to optimize activities on pipelines for the trading organization.
  • Understand the movement of natural gas and use electronic bulletin boards and internal tracking systems.
  • Track transactions from inception to month end and monitor pipeline volumes and reforecast as needed.
  • Verify transactions with third parties and maintain relationships.
  • Maintain spreadsheets, pipeline imbalances and storage balances.
  • Monitor notices and alert the team to issues.
  • Cross-train on other pipelines as necessary.
  • Support internal departments and special projects; lead by example and uphold corporate philosophy.
  • Position is 100% on-site; job location is Houston or Dallas.

Summary:

Schedule natural gas while working with traders, originators and other schedulers to optimize and accurately provide activities on pipelines in support of the trading organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Schedule natural gas while working with traders, originators, and other schedulers to optimize and accurately provide activities on pipelines in support of the trading organization.
  • Understand the basic movement of natural gas, knowledge of electronic bulletin boards, internal tracking systems and is capable of tracking transactions from inception to month end.
  • Work toward understanding pipeline contracts to optimize in the most efficient manner.
  • Verify transactions with third parties and maintain good relationships.
  • Monitor pipeline volumes in pipeline EBB's and reforecast volumes when necessary.
  • Maintain all associated spreadsheets, pipeline imbalances and storage balances.
  • Monitor pipeline notices and alert team to relevant issues.
  • Cross train on other pipelines as necessary to gain knowledge of those pipelines.
  • Assist internal departments and individuals in special projects as needed.
  • Lead by example, support and promote the ETC corporate philosophy and work ethic.
  • Position will be 100% on-site

Requirements: Education and/or experience, knowledge, skills & abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or additional commensurate work experience.
  • 2-5 years of analytical experience in a related area to have a working knowledge of natural gas, gas scheduling, tariffs, contracts and/or gas accounting. Experience should include 2+ years in gas scheduling or a related area.
  • Some travel required.
  • Required to rotate on call duties which results in working evening/weekend hours and rotate the holiday coverage as scheduled by the team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to multitask and problem solve.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with a high skill set in Excel and Word.
  • Highly motivated individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Allegro - Horizon is a plus.
  • Knowledge of scheduling in the Gulf, Midcontinent and West regions is a plus.
Working Conditions:
  1. Usually, normal office conditions.
  2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  3. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
