Responsibilities

  • Nominate, confirm, and schedule volumes in applicable transaction systems or spreadsheets meeting daily cycle deadlines
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and provide prompt courteous service to customer inquiries
  • Work with shippers, Gas Control, Operations, Accounting, Marketing and Commercial groups to ensure smooth daily/monthly flow
  • Manage offload interconnects and produce reports for contractual/volumetric obligations
  • Manage shipper and OBA imbalances daily
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve plant and pipeline upsets, maintenance, and weather events
  • Support Accounting Close with scheduling-generated spreadsheets for invoicing
  • Prepare and reconcile volume allocations/curtailments as required

Summary:

Perform daily gas scheduling functions for various pipeline and plant assets in our regions of operation. Responsible for nominations, confirmations, scheduling, and allocations. Manages daily imbalances with producers, shippers and pipelines in accordance with contractual and system compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Nominate, confirm, and schedule volumes in applicable transaction systems or spreadsheets meeting daily cycle deadlines
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and provide prompt courteous service to customer inquiries
  • Work closely with shippers, Gas Control, Operations, Accounting, Marketing and Commercial groups as needed to facilitate fluid flow of daily/monthly business
  • Manage moderately complex offload interconnects including critical analysis and reports for contractual / volumetric obligations
  • Manage shipper and OBA imbalances on a daily basis
  • Communicate and collaborate with critical stakeholders in working through plant and pipeline upsets, maintenance, and weather events to ensure flow volumes and nominations are in alignment
  • Serve as a member of the Accounting Close team and provide pipe support and Scheduling generated spreadsheets by close deadlines for invoicing
  • Ability to prepare and reconcile volume allocations/curtailments as required
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Familiarity with gathering and processing of natural gas business preferred
  • Familiarity of EBBs of gathering/intrastate/interstate pipelines as it relates to scheduling and confirming gas preferred
  • Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills required
  • Must possess strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule tasks and respond well to changing priorities
  • Ability to be thorough and accurate while under strict time constraints
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and active listening when communicating with internal and external customers
  • On-call availability for assigned assets
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
  • The Associate Gas Scheduler requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 0-2 years of directly related experience in either natural gas scheduling or other natural gas business activities.
  • The Gas Scheduler level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of directly related experience in either natural gas scheduling or other natural gas business activities
  • The Senior Gas Scheduler level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years of directly related experience in either natural gas scheduling or other natural gas business activities
Software Knowledge:
  • Microsoft Office Suite
Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
