Big-D is seeking a dynamic Scheduler - Mission Critical to develop, maintain and analyze schedules for major data center construction projects. The role supports planning, tracking progress and evaluating impacts to deliver successful projects.

Based in Reno or Salt Lake City, travel is required as needed. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of construction experience, plus proficiency with Asta, Suretrack and MS Project.

• PMI or AACE scheduling certification preferred but not required.

• Understanding of claims process and lifecycle.

• Develop, monitor and update integrated project plans and schedules for efficient execution.
• Prepare baseline schedules and schedule basis documents for approval by project teams.
• Assess impacts to critical path and near-critical activities and report to the project team.
• Monitor schedule deviations and variances; suggest corrective actions.
• Prepare schedule progress reports and trend analyses on a periodic basis.
• Maintain records of scope changes, trends and variances affecting schedule performance.
• Ensure credibility of information contained in the schedule.
• Review schedules with project team members to ensure data accuracy.
• Analyze schedules from A/E firms, vendors and general contractors.
• Verify schedule logic and float paths; evaluate constructability.
• Recommend sequencing changes to meet milestones and interim targets.
• Load resources on schedules as required by the project team.
• Conduct jobsite walks to verify progress.
• Facilitate scheduling meetings and planning sessions.
• Participate in project meetings as needed.
• Comply with scheduling practices and procedures.
• Document historical schedule information for future use.

Big-D is looking for a dynamic Scheduler - Mission Critical. The Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules for large-scale mission-critical data center construction projects.

The Scheduler plays a critical role in planning complex construction sequences, tracking progress, evaluating schedule impacts, and supporting the successful deliveries.

This position can be based in Reno, Salt Lake City but must be willing to travel as needed.

Experience/Training:

• Bachelor’s degree or 5 or more years related experience and/or training,or equivalent combination of education and experience in a construction environment.

Critical Skills:

• Demonstrated expertise in the use of modern planning and scheduling principals, methodologies, techniques and tools.
• Proficiency using Asta, Suretrack, and/or Microsoft Project
• Certification by AACE or PMI in planning/scheduling is preferred, but not required.
• Experience with planning controls systems, automation, GAMP, Emerson & Delta V would be a plus.
• Clear written and verbal communications
• Ability to multitaskand work on multiple projects simultaneously including manage priorities of multiple managers.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Understanding of claims process
• Understanding full lifecycle ofclaims process
• Work well in a team environment

Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations

(other duties may be assigned to meet business needs)

• Develop, monitor and update integrated project plans and schedules so that projects can be executed in the most efficient manner possible.
• Prepare baseline schedules and schedule basis documents for approval by project teams.
• Assess impacts to the critical path and near-critical activities and report to the project team.
• Monitor schedule deviations and variances and assist in the developing alternate methods for corrective action.
• Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, trending charts and schedule analysis on a periodic basis.
• Maintain record of scope changes, trends and variances that potentially affect schedule performance.
• Assure credibility of the information contained in the schedule.
• Review schedules with project team members on a regular basis to ensure that accurate and timely data is incorporated in the schedule.
• Analyze schedules from A/E firms, Vendors and General Contractors.
• Verify schedule integrity and evaluate logic and float paths.
• Evaluate activity sequences for constructability.
• Make recommendations to manage float and sequence activities, if required, to achieve project milestone dates and interim target completion dates.
• Resource load schedules as required by the project team.
• Perform jobsitewalks to verify physical progress of scheduled activities.
• Facilitate project scheduling meetings and/or interactive planning meetings as required by the project team.
• Participate in project meetings at the discretion of the project manager.
• Comply with departmental scheduling practices and procedures.
• At the completion of the project, develop and record the project’s historical schedule information and lessons learned‚ for future use.
