Big-D Mission Critical is seeking a Project Controls Engineer to support cost, schedule, productivity, and performance on large-scale data center projects. The role can be Reno, NV-based or traveling with per-diem.

You will work with cost control, forecasting, and earned value while coordinating with scheduling and procurement teams. Ideal candidates have a 2–5 year background in project controls or related disciplines, strong Excel skills, and experience with Primavera P6, Power BI, Procore, or

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in project controls, project engineering, cost engineering, construction management, or related disciplines.
• Experience in commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management software.
• Experience with Primavera P6, Power BI, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support project cost control, forecasting, and budgeting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Track project performance against established schedules, budgets, and milestones.
• Assist in maintaining cost reports, cash flow projections, and earned value metrics.
• Analyze production rates, labor productivity, and project progress.
• Support change management processes, including tracking potential change orders and schedule impacts.
• Prepare weekly and monthly project controls reports for leadership and clients.
• Assist with project forecasting, risk analysis, and trend identification.
• Collaborate with scheduling to evaluate progress and critical path impacts.
• Develop and maintain project dashboards and performance metrics.
• Monitor procurement, equipment deliveries, and material tracking against schedules.
• Assist with audits, reporting requirements, and executive presentations.
• Identify variances and propose corrective actions to meet objectives.

Big-D Mission Critical is looking for a Project Controls Engineer who will support the planning, monitoring, and reporting of project cost, schedule, productivity, and performance on large-scale data center construction projects.

This position is either based in Reno, NV or in a traveling role with per-diem.

Key Responsibilities

• Support project cost control, forecasting, and budgeting efforts throughout the project lifecycle.
• Track project performance against established schedules, budgets, and key milestones.
• Assist in maintaining cost reports, cash flow projections, and earned value metrics.
