Maintenance Scheduler
Role Overview:
The Maintenance Scheduler is responsible for developing and managing maintenance schedules to ensure efficient execution of work orders, optimize resource utilization, and minimize equipment downtime. This role requires experience with Primavera (P6) and SAP (or similar), as well as strong coordination and communication skills to collaborate with multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work Order Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed maintenance schedules using Primavera P6 and SAP to ensure timely execution of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities.
- Job Plan Review: Review planned maintenance jobs, validate scope, labor requirements, and material availability before scheduling work.
- Coordination & Communication: Work closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, and construction teams to align schedules and resolve potential conflicts.
- Resource Allocation: Optimize labor, equipment, and materials to meet operational demands while minimizing downtime and production impact.
- Schedule Updates & Adjustments: Monitor job progress, update schedules as needed, and adjust timelines based on operational priorities or unforeseen delays.
- Backlog Management: Track, prioritize, and schedule maintenance backlog work in alignment with business goals and maintenance strategies.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all scheduled maintenance activities comply with safety, regulatory, and company standards. Generate reports on maintenance performance, schedule compliance, and resource utilization.
- Shutdown & Turnaround Scheduling: Assist in planning and scheduling major shutdowns, outages, and turnarounds to ensure successful execution within budget and time constraints.
- Data Accuracy & System Integrity: Maintain accurate records in SAP and Primavera, ensuring all work orders are correctly documented and updated.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify scheduling inefficiencies, recommend process improvements, and support initiatives to enhance maintenance planning and execution.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Primavera P6 and SAP is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling principles, and work order management.
- Familiarity with preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices.
- Ability to analyze work scopes, estimate labor hours, and sequence jobs efficiently.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to effectively coordinate across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Understanding of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and CMMS systems is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance scheduling, planning, or related roles within an industrial, manufacturing, or plant environment.
- Experience in industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, chemical, or manufacturing is highly desirable.
