Scheduler I - Mt Auburn Urology - Full Time - Days

Job Description

Manages daily patient and physician scheduling using Practice Management system for labs, diagnostic tests, doctor’s visits, follow-ups, hospital procedures, and surgeries. Schedules appointments to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization. Confirms appointments and scans orders into Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Assignments may be confidential and require judgment and discretion.

Responsibilities
  • Answers calls, directs to appropriate staff, manages messages, correspondence, and administrative documents.
  • Manages physician’s outlook calendar.
  • Greets visitors and patients, performs check-in/out, determines insurance coverage, and completes paperwork.
  • Responds courteously to inquiries, collects co-pays, updates patient information, and stays current on insurance policies.
  • Maintains cash drawer, logs payments, and reconciles balances.
  • Verifies referrals, performs pre-certifications, and manages correspondence and work queues in EMR.
  • Orders supplies and maintains front office cleanliness.
  • Performs other clerical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years’ customer service experience; medical office and scheduling experience preferred.
  • Skills in copier, fax, telephone, postage, and computer systems (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain confidentiality, and pass skills assessments.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong verbal and social skills, excellent customer service.
  • Proficient in Electronic Medical Records and Practice Management systems.
  • Knowledge of health insurance coverage and requirements.
  • Basic math skills for co-pay collection and balancing logs.
  • Analytical decision-making skills.
  • Compliance with HIPAA privacy requirements.
