Job summary

Twin County Regional Healthcare in Galax, VA is seeking a full-time Scheduler to join Twin County Physician Practices. This Monday–Friday dayshift role involves coordinating appointments, testing, and care coordination to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The ideal candidate has strong computer skills, prior scheduling experience in a healthcare setting, and a high school diploma or equivalent. You will communicate with patients, offices, and insurers to obtain orders and pre-certifications,

• Schedules all patients for ancillary, surgical, and medical testing/procedures/admissions.
• Obtains physician's orders and authorization/pre-certification. Enters outpatient procedures in the Order Entry System.
• Communicates insurance coverage limitations, testing requirements, and other pertinent information to patients and physician offices.

How you'll contribute

A Scheduler who excels in this role:

• Schedules all patients for ancillary, surgical, and medical testing/procedures/admissions.

What we're looking for:

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Prior scheduling experience in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
• Medical terminology, billing, and/or collection experience is preferred.
• Strong computer skills required.
