Position Summary:

The scheduler is responsible for maintaining an efficient, accurate schedule and for updating the schedule to reflect trades, terminations, and leaves of absence. This position tracks call offs and late arrivals and early departures as they occur and coordinates with HR and the DON to make sure that the facility's attendance policies are administered in a fair and timely manner.

Position Summary:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Schedules staff to accompany residents for medical appointments when necessary.
• Create and distribute monthly staffing schedules for Nurses and C.N.A.s. Monitor work schedule to ensure adequate staffing for unit within PPD range and fill open shifts as needed.
• Work in close partnership with HR, DON & Administrator to determine placement and orientation schedules for new nursing personnel. Notify appropriate mentors of said schedule.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the supervisors and other management personnel regarding staffing and scheduling issues.
• Participates in Facility Orientation.
• Respond to employee requests for vacation time and adjust schedule appropriately.
• Provide staffing reports to D.O.N. and Administrator to aide in budget preparation.
• Adhere to patient rights and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA guidelines.
• Attend staff meetings and provide in-services as requested.
• Conduct in-person interviews for staffing.
• Provides receptionist duties such as telephone answering, filing, and door monitor.
• Coordinates the ordering of all house stock and changeable supplies with nursing and other staff
• Recruits, hires, provides orientation, and retains a sufficient number of qualified staff to carry out the responsibilities of the Central Supply area. Ensures employee performance meets or expectations and period performance appraisals are conduced on a timely basis.
• Establishes PAR with the Director of Nursing.
• Verifies supply order at the time of delivery, inspects for damaged goods, and verifies against purchase orders.
• Accurately enters and maintains data relative to supplies using company software programs.
• Distributes supplies to appropriate locations.
• Obtains data on chargeable supplies used by each resident and transfers the information into the TRIAD system daily.
• Assists with daily and monthly physical inventory.
• Ensures supply room is properly secured.
• Cleans equipment in compliance with infection control procedures.
• Coordinates and validate outside rental of equipment.
• Perform other tasks as required.
• Attend hiring staffing meetings with NHA, DON, and HRBP to evaluate staffing needs.

Required/Desired Qualifications:

Education, Training, and Experience:
