Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • The centralized scheduler is directly accountable to the Admitting Leadership; schedules tests/procedure cases for all patients where services occur as a scheduled event.
  • Coordinates with departments as necessary; ensures accurate, complete patient demographics and insurance authorizations are entered.
  • Prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on-call list to appropriate departments or personnel.

Responsibilities

The centralized scheduler is directly accountable to the Admitting Leadership the Centralized Scheduler routinely schedules tests/procedure cases for all patients where services occur as a scheduled event.

This may include, but is not limited to; Clinic visits, Surgery, G.I. Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Nutritional Services, Infusion units or any other location where scheduling of a test or procedure may occur. Coordinates with departments as necessary. Ensures that accurate, complete and thorough patient demographics are entered into the computer system, including insurance and authorizations if applicable. Notifies departments as necessary of various services that may require, equipment, instrumentation and supplies from outside vendors for scheduled surgeries. Prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on call list to appropriate departments or personnel.

Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
  • High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)
  • Knowledge of multiple insurance authorization requirements
  • 1-2 year previous experience in a hospital environment preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Customer Services experience required
  • Strong clerical and computer skills.

Shasta Regional Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. Our Total Rewards package includes, but is not limited to, paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and many more voluntary benefit options. Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreement requirements and/or the employment status, i.e. full-time or part-time. The current compensation range for this role is $23.15 to $32.05. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
