Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to manage patient procedure scheduling, pre-admission testing, and related communications. The role requires coordinating with physicians, staff, and external partners to ensure timely, accurate scheduling and documentation.

You will handle data entry, scheduling, referrals, and preauthorization processes while maintaining patient privacy and high-quality service across the care continuum.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 3-5 years of related work experience.
• Experience with computer systems, including web based applications and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for procedures and related appointments.
• Maintains scheduling applications and patient data, coordinates resources.
• Communicates schedules daily and updates staff on revisions.
• Acts as liaison with internal departments and external resources.
• Ensures paperwork and preauthorization are completed and referrals obtained.
• Tracks procedures and equipment usage; maintains logs and revisions.
• Coordinates vendor delivery of equipment and patient home delivery where required.

Schedules patients for procedures; post-operative appointments, pre-admission testing, testing, surgery, follow up and wait list process. Notify patients in-person and via mail of scheduled procedures. Ensures all communications are timely and provide complete details of procedure, location, and time and required. Provides patients with information pertaining to testing and surgery.2. Maintains multiple applications for scheduling of procedures & collection of patient data. Schedules location of procedure, medical staff & clinical resources. Completes accurate & timely journal entries. Collaborates with both internal & external partners to obtain resources. Maintains physician &/or surgeon's schedule. Registers patient & ensures demographic data is entered accurately.3. Communicates schedules on a daily basis. Reviews with advisor. Updates staff with revisions. Posts schedules.4. Acts as liaison to with internal departments and external resources and agencies.5. Coordinates to ensure all paperwork is complete and preauthorization has been obtained. Obtains and processes referrals for procedures.6. Oversees documenting of procedures and resources. Maintains and tracks service and procedure to ensure procedures and equipment usage are captured. Generates log for review and enters revisions. Coordinates to ensure all paperwork is complete and preauthorization has been obtained.7. Contracts with vendors to coordinate delivery of equipment. Coordinates delivery to patient's residence. Ensures resources for procedures are maintained and available for scheduled proceduresRequired Qualifications:• High School diploma or GED required.• 3-5 years related work experience required.• Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.Pay Range:$21.53 - $28.97The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
