Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a day shift, full-time Cardiology Scheduler in Topeka, KS. The role involves handling patient appointment requests by phone and coordinating with physician offices, patients, and health center departments to verify demographics and insurance details.

You will ensure records and film studies are available prior to visits, remind patients of appointments, and fill cancellations to keep provider schedules efficient, all under supervision of the Clinic

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a medical office setting.
• Typing speed of 40 words per minute.
• Excellent customer service skills, written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and coordinate more than one event at a time.
• Professional demeanor and adherence to HIPAA rules.
• Prior experience in physician clinic phone scheduling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments from phone requests.
• Coordinate with physician offices, patients, and Health Center departments to complete scheduling, including patient demographics and insurance eligibility verification.
• Ensure patient records and film studies are available prior to appointments.
• Remind patients of appointments and to bring prior records as appropriate.
• Fill cancellations and reschedule appointments to optimize provider schedules.
• Work under supervision of the Clinic Supervisor/Manager.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for scheduling patient appointments from phone requests.
• Works with physician offices, patients, Health Center departments and all others in completing the scheduling function, including patient demographic information and insurance eligibility verification.
• Assures that proper patient records and film studies are available prior to the patients' appointments.
• Reminds patients of appointments and to bring prior records as appropriate.
• Contributes to efficiently of provider schedules by filling cancellations and rescheduling appointments when requested.
• Works under the supervision of the Clinic Supervisor/Manager.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• One-year prior experience in medical office setting.
• Must type 40 wpm: proficient computer skills.
• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal; interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients and their families, physician offices, nursing personnel and co-workers.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and coordinate more than one event at a time.
• Professionalism required.
• Must have knowledge of HIPAA rules.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Prior experience in physician clinic phone scheduling preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
