About the OpportunityAs the Scheduler for Austal Ships, you’ll be responsible for helping plan and coordinate the delivery of major Defence shipbuilding programs. In this role, you’ll develop, maintain and analyse detailed production schedules that reflect engineering release, material readiness, workforce sequencing and key program milestones. Working within a complex Defence delivery environment, you’ll ensure shipbuilding activities are logically structured, accurately statused and fully integrated with program level schedules. Key Responsibilities:Build and maintain detailed shipbuilding schedules aligned to program milestones.Keep schedule baselines accurate, applying changes and ensuring logic reflects the build strategy.Gather and validate progress updates from Production, Engineering and Workface Planning.Analyse critical path, float and trends to spot emerging schedule risks early.Flag impacts ahead of time and help shape recovery and mitigation plans.Work with master schedulers to align subcontractor and cross functional schedules.Develop and manage Primavera P6 schedules using approved coding and progress methods.You’ll NeedDiploma or higher in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or similar, or equivalent experience in shipbuilding, defence or heavy manufacturing.Hands on experience developing and maintaining detailed schedules in complex production or project environments.Formal training and practical capability with Primavera P6.Strong understanding of schedule logic, critical path, progress measurement and baseline control.Ability to work closely with production, engineering and supply chain teams to validate progress and resolve planning issues.Solid knowledge of project management principles, including Earned Value Management.Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance.
