Inova Schar Infusion is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This full-time role operates on a Monday-Friday rotating shift basis.

Job Responsibilities

• Handle chemotherapy preparations safely, minimizing spills, aerosolization, and environmental exposure.
• Calculate patient-specific doses accurately based on mg/m2 or mg/kg, ensuring minimal exposure.
• Assess and reorder IV admixture and chemotherapy supplies to avoid stockouts and excess inventory.
• Ensure safe disposal of hazardous materials, sharps, and trash.
• Follow aseptic techniques and proper procedures in IV admixture preparation, documentation, and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Prepare IV admixtures and sterile compounds, ensuring contamination-free solutions.

Additional Requirements

• Work schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, 6:30 am - 5:00 pm, with occasional weekends; must be flexible.
• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: At least 2 years as a hospital Pharmacy Technician.
• Certification: Registered Pharmacy Technician in Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license; BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
