Job summary

United States Sugar Corporation is seeking personnel for the SOUTH CENTRAL FLORIDA EXPRESS to perform brake tests, inspections, and safe transport of crew. The role includes operating bridges and handbrakes, completing required forms, and assisting conductors to expedite movements within rail yards.

The candidate should have good English communication, the ability to follow instructions, and a history of safe, reliable work.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, speak and write English.
• Ability to work with others or alone with minimum supervision.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate information pertaining to the job.
• Ability to maintain written documentation pertaining to the job.
• Ability to follow proper safety and housekeeping procedures pertaining to the area.
• Ability to work the posted schedule with shift work and overtime as necessary.
• Results from Company designated tests designed to measure basic skills, job skills, mechanical aptitude and/or other interests, skills and characteristics.
• Competence performing some or all of the duties of the vacant position or of a related position.
• No active disciplinary action and good work history.
• Educational and previous work experience.
• Have a valid Driver's License, Class E or above.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee works and drives in outside weather conditions on a regular basis.

• Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary and use common office equipment
• Ability to move or handle various items generally weighing between 0-75 pounds. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to bend, climb and walk significant distances
• Mount and dismount locomotive and check switch points for proper alignment
