American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) is seeking a Scenic & Props Design Associate in San Francisco, CA. The role spans Mainstage, Conservatory, Education, and rental projects, working closely with Production Management and guest designers.

Qualifications

• BA/BFA in technical theatre or scenic design or equivalent professional experience (2+ years).
• Proficiency in Vectorworks drafting and ability to produce complete design packages.
• Experience managing budgets and expenditures.
• Strong computer skills on PC or Mac; familiarity with cloud tools and collaboration platforms.

Responsabilités

• Serve as production liaison between guest Scenic/Props Designers and shops, tracking changes and revisions.
• Assist drafting and generate ground plans, line-set schedules, and build drawings.
• Maintain and distribute up-to-date drawings and paperwork to shops and teams.
• Attend production meetings and represent scenic/props departments.
• Support rehearsal props and coordinate transfer to the theatre.
• Serve as Assistant Scenic and Props Designer during tech rehearsals and previews.
