Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for an Associate's or Bachelor's in Visual Arts, and a minimum of three years' experience (five years for senior tiers).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities per policy.

JOB SUMMARY

To provide a comprehensive scenic painting service, which will be instrumental in maintaining and expanding Universal Orlando.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Gather and prepare necessary information, tools and items needed to complete assigned painting task.
• Paint faux finishes such as wood graining, marbleizing, aging, sponging and rag rolling.
• Field color matching, pick colors and mix paint using color 10% matching for desired assignment. Create, maintain and use painting documentation.
• Draw, layout and paint backdrops and murals with 10% use of brush or airbrush.
• Paint or airbrush 2‑dimensional and 3‑dimensional fields and props.
• Prep surfaces to be painted: cleaning, scraping, caulking, applying putty, sanding, patching, priming, and base painting (brush and roll).
• Clean up paint area: pick up used tarps, scraping, removing tape, clean spills, reseal paint cans, clean paint buckets, then store equipment/tools in designated storage area.
• Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, specializing in painting, drawing, or sculpture preferred.

EXPERIENCE

• Three years minimum experience considered 1st Tier.
• Five years minimum experience considered 2nd Tier.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
