Job summary

Universal Orlando is seeking a skilled scenic painter to support maintenance and expansion of its attractions. The role involves preparing surfaces, applying faux finishes like wood graining and marbleizing, painting backdrops and murals, and ensuring accurate color matching.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for an Associate's or Bachelor's in Visual Arts, and a minimum of three years' experience (five years for senior tiers).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts preferred.
• Three years minimum painting experience (five years for 2nd tier).
• Experience with faux finishes, murals and color matching.

Responsibilities

• Gather and prepare information, tools and items needed to complete assigned painting task.
• Paint faux finishes such as wood graining, marbleizing, aging, sponging and rag rolling.
• Color match and mix paints; create, maintain and use painting documentation.
• Draw, layout and paint backdrops and murals with brush or airbrush as needed.
• Prep surfaces to be painted: cleaning, scraping, caulking, priming, base painting.
• Clean up painting area and store equipment/tools properly.
• Contribute to Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities per policy.
