Skillforce in Orlando, FL is hiring Scenic Journeyman Carpenters for upcoming projects. The role focuses on constructing, assembling, and repairing wooden structures in a controlled shop environment with precision craftsmanship and plan reading skills.

You will read blueprints, measure and cut materials, operate woodworking tools, and build cabinets, frames, fixtures, doors, and custom wood products. Collaboration with managers and field teams is essential, with safety and quality as priorities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a scenic carpenter or shop carpenter.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and project specifications
• Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials based on blueprints or shop drawings
• Operate woodworking tools and machinery (saws, routers, sanders, drills, etc.)
• Build cabinets, frames, fixtures, doors, and custom wood products
• Construct and assemble wood components for cabinetry, furniture, scenic elements, and themed environments.
• Create layouts, cut lists, and perform CNC cutting or programming (for applicable roles)
• Inspect materials for quality and ensure accuracy of finished products
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and field teams
• Perform repairs or modifications to existing structures or components
• Follow all safety procedures and company standards
