Job summary

ATOMIC Design Inc. is seeking a skilled Carpenter to build and assemble wooden scenic elements for live events. You will read plans, work from drawings or requests, and maintain a clean, organized wood shop.

The role requires strong carpentry skills, experience with laminates and veneers, and familiarity with scenic construction and rigging. Expect overtime and off-site venue work as project schedules demand.

Qualifications

• Strong carpentry skills.
• Experience with laminate, veneer, joinery, spray adhesives, assembling casework.
• Experience with woodworking tools including table saw, planer, edge bander, shaper.
• Working knowledge of scenic construction and rigging.
• Knowledge of theater terms and procedures.
• Ability to read drawings and ground plans.
• 5+ years of applicable scenic carpentry experience.

• Prepare finished pieces for next step of process (paint, labelling, packaging, etc.)
• Maintain a clean and organized wood shop.
• Keep accurate records of inventory usage.
