Job summary
Mohegan Sun's Entertainment Tech team seeks a versatile Scenic Technician to join the Event Design Shop. You will contribute to scenic décor construction for ballroom events, promotions, and casino decorations across carpentry, welding, sewing, painting, and related trades.
Responsibilities include reading construction drawings and renderings, assisting with packing, shipping, installing, and striking scenery, and maintaining shop safety.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; four years in scenic staging or related field may be substituted for a degree.
- Experience reading and interpreting scenic renderings and designs is preferred.
- Knowledge of theatre lighting, set design, and sound systems is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; comfortable working at heights.
Responsibilities
- Construct scenic décor for ballroom events, promotions, and casino decorations across carpentry, welding, sewing, and painting disciplines.
- Assist with packing, shipping, installing and striking scenery around the property; read and follow construction drawings and paint elevations.
- Adhere to shop safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Support the Sports and Entertainment team with load in/out and operate lift equipment as required.
