Boston Conservatory at Berklee is seeking a Scenic Carpenter to support the Technical Direction team in constructing, installing, and dismantling scenery for Mainstage productions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency with power tools, scenic carpentry, and rigging, reporting to the Technical Director in Performance Services.

Required qualifications include a BA in Theater or equivalent, at least four years’ theatrical carpentry experience, the ability to read construction drawings

• Read and interpret construction drawings and cut lists.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience with hardware and build techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist in constructing, installing, and dismantling scenery for Mainstage productions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the scene shop and workspaces.
• Mentor student workers as applicable to tasks at hand.
• Participate in load-ins, changeovers, and strikes during the contract period.
