Job summary

The Scenic Carpenter at Boston Conservatory at Berklee assists the Technical Direction team in constructing, installing, and dismantling scenery for all Mainstage productions. Qualifications

• BA in Theater or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 4 years experience in theatrical carpentry.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and cut lists.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in wood construction and theatrical rigging.

Responsibilities

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Mentor student workers as applicable to the tasks at hand.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the scene shop and associated workspaces.
• Participate in all load-ins, changeovers, and strikes throughout the contract period.
