Taylor Studios is an exhibit design and fabrication firm seeking a talented scenic artist to join our team in Rantoul, IL. The role involves sculpting, painting, and finishing exhibit surfaces with a focus on realism and durability.

Qualified candidates should have 3+ years in scenic environments, including model making, with strong tool skills and the ability to interpret drawings. Overtime, travel, and a collaborative workshop culture are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• 3 years of experience in scenic/themed environments is desired but not absolutely required.
• 3 years' experience sculpting and painting models large and small.

Responsibilities

• Exercise knowledge of handling both water-based and solvent systems appropriately.
• Prepare various substrates for work.
• Utilize diverse spray tools and techniques.
• Ensure swift completion of exhibit production tasks.
• Craft faux finishes and color mixes with basic theory.
• Work with others in a team under time constraints.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness in the workshop.
