The University of South Alabama's Theatre and Dance Department is seeking a Scene Shop Specialist to support production activities on the Mobile campus.
This role serves as technical director for productions, designs and supervises technical elements, mentors students, and ensures safety and compliance with budgets and schedules.
Full-time position with variable hours and a focus on hands-on construction, drafting and collaboration with faculty and guest artists.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in theater or a related field from an accredited institution as approved and accredited by the University of South Alabama and two years of theater scenery construction and operations experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Must possess an understanding of set and lighting design and drafting of scenery which requires the use of various hand tools.
