Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Service Center Imaging Technician to operate digital image scanning equipment, capture images, and generate OCR text in accordance with established procedures.

You will perform routine maintenance, manage logs, stock supplies, and assist with binding and page preparation to ensure smooth operations.

US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance are required. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under time pressure are essential.

Qualifications

  • One year experience with image scanning and conversion equipment.
  • Able to set up, operate, and maintain scanning machines.
  • Attention to detail under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operates digital image scanning equipment to capture images and generate OCR text.
  • Follows established scanning and quality control procedures in producing digital files in specified format for further processing.
  • May be required to prepare documents for scanning by disassembling and reassembling prior to scanning.
  • Record file-level information and physical attachment information during the scanning process.
  • Performs routine maintenance on relevant equipment.
  • Maintains scanning and task logs and equipment maintenance logs.
  • Operate binding and cutting equipment to bind pages, hole punch, resize paper, etc.
  • Perform light maintenance to keep operations running smoothly and equipment clean.
  • Ensure service center is stocked with necessary items (paper, toner, binders, etc.).
  • Provide expert-level services in operating scanning and printing machines (Canon or Xerox).
  • Maintain equipment and handle service calls as required.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies (toner, binders, tabs, paper, etc.).
  • Scan up to 12,000 pages and print up to 15,000 pages per week.
  • Label, bind and assemble exhibits and demonstratives.
  • Replace toner in service center locations and floor machines.

Job description

Primary Responsibilities
  • Operates digital image scanning equipment to capture images and generate associated OCR text.
  • Follows established scanning and quality control procedures in producing digital files in specified format for further processing.
  • May be required to prepare documents for scanning (including determining logical breaks and unitization of hard copy documents) by disassembling prior to scanning and reassembling afterward.
  • May be required to record file-level information and physical attachment information during the scanning process.
  • Performs routine maintenance on relevant equipment.
  • Maintains scanning and task logs as well as equipment maintenance logs.
  • Operate binding and cutting equipment (i.e. hole press, velo binder, etc.) that may be needed in the service center to bind pages, hole punch, resize paper, etc.
  • Perform light maintenance on the equipment in the service center to ensure operations always run smoothly and the equipment is regularly cleaned and serviced.
  • Ensure the service center is ready stocked with all necessary items including paper, colored paper, hole punched paper, binders of various sizes, clips, staples, bands, toner, tabs, labels, etc.
  • Provide expert-level services in operating scanning and printing machines (Canon or Xerox).
  • Maintain equipment and handle service calls as required.
  • Maintain an inventory of all supplies (toner, binders, tabs, paper, etc.).
  • Scan as many as 12,000 pages and print as many as 15,000 pages a week.
  • Label, bind and assemble exhibits and demonstratives.
  • Replace toner in both the dedicated Service Center locations and possibly some floor machines.
Basic Qualifications
  • One year experience working with image scanning and conversion equipment, including hands-on experience with the specific equipment being used (Canon or Xerox).
  • Must be able to set up, operate, and perform routine maintenance on these machines.
  • Attention to detail important.
  • Ability to produce high quality work under adverse conditions and time pressures is important.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous litigation support experience highly valued.
  • Hands-on experience in a Windows office automation environment such as JCON Trial support experience a plus Undergraduate degree preferred.
  • This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum requirements.

  • The pay for this position will be $20.85/hr.
