Qualifications

  • Provide service in operating scanning and printing machines (Canon or Xerox).
  • Replace toner in service centers and floor machines as required.

Description

Leidos is seeking Scanner Operators to work on-site in support of the Department of Justice in Washington, DC. Be one of the first to dedicate your skills and talent to a newly formed division of the Department of Justice, National Fraud Enforcement Division.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Operates digital image scanning equipment to capture images and generate associated OCR text.
  • Follows established scanning and quality control procedures in producing digital files in specified format for further processing.
  • May be required to prepare documents for scanning (including determining logical breaks and unitization of hard copy documents) by disassembling prior to scanning and reassembling afterwards.
  • May be required to record file-level information and physical attachment information during the scanning process. Performs routine maintenance on relevant equipment.
  • Maintains scanning and task logs as well as equipment maintenance logs.
  • Operate binding and cutting equipment (i.e. hole press, velo binder, etc.) that may be needed in the service center to bind pages, hole punch, resize paper, etc.
  • Perform light maintenance on the equipment in the service center to ensure operations always run smoothly and the equipment is regularly cleaned and serviced.
  • Ensure the service center is ready stocked with all necessary items including paper, colored paper, hole punched paper, binders of various sizes, clips, staples, bands, toner, tabs, labels, etc.
  • Provide expert-level services in operating scanning and printing machines (Canon or Xerox).
  • Maintain equipment and handle service calls as required.
  • Maintain an inventory of all supplies (toner, binders, tabs, paper, etc.)
  • Scan as many as 12,000 pages and print as many as 15,000 pages a week.
  • Label, bind and assemble exhibits and demonstratives.
  • Replace toner in both the dedicated Service Center locations and possibly some floor machines.
Basic Qualifications
  • One year experience working with image scanning and conversion equipment, including hands-on experience with the specific equipment being used (Canon or Xerox).
  • Must be able to set up, operate, and perform routine maintenance on these machines.
  • Attention to detail important.
  • Ability to produce high quality work under adverse conditions and time pressures is important.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous litigation support experience highly valued.
  • Hands-on experience in a Windows office automation environment such as JCON
  • Trial support experience a plus
  • Undergraduate degree preferred

This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum requirements. Leidos ensures that all provisions are satisfied. The pay for this position will be $20.85/hr.
