Job summary

MAC.BID is hiring a Scanline Floater to prepare products for scanning and place items in the correct bays for auction processing. The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 lb solo (50 lb with help), and following written instructions as part of the on-site team.

Responsibilities include inspecting returns, classifying condition, testing basic electronics, and maintaining clean, organized work areas for efficient scanning and storage of lots.

Qualifications

• Must be tech-savvy and able to follow written directions.
• Able to lift 25 lb alone or 50 lb with a team.
• Must be able to stand and walk for hours at a time.

Responsibilities

• Inspect inbound products for defects.
• Categorize products by condition (Like New/Open Box/Damaged).
• Test electronics at a basic level to assess condition.
• Move products to conveyor for scanning and placement on shelves.
• Remove scanned products from scanning area promptly.
• Place items into bays according to auction and lot numbers.
• Assist team in meeting quantity and quality goals.
• Sweep and remove trash from bays and scanning area.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

JOB TYPE AND CLASSIFICATION:

Full-Time Hourly Non-Exempt

JOB OVERVIEW:

MAC.BID buys truckloads of customer returns and overstock products, then sells these items individually to the public through online auctions. The Scanline Floater prepares and positions products for the scan team, as well as removes scanned products and puts them away according to our system. This position reports to the Scan or Mobile Scan Team Lead.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect inbound products for obvious defects
• Categorize each product as Like New, Open Box, or Damaged
• Test electronics at a basic level to assess general condition
• Move products to the conveyor for the scanners to process
• Remove the scanned product from the scanning area quickly
• Move products to the bays, putting them on the shelves according to auction and lot number
• Be responsible for helping the team meet quantity and quality goals
• Sweep and remove trash from empty bays and mobile scan area
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Availability to work on-site. Schedules may vary Monday through Saturday, depending on location, 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute lunch break, hours determined by workload and Management
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds alone, 50 pounds with a team lift
• Must be tech-savvy
• Must be able to stand and walk for hours at a time
• Must be able to follow written directions and company policies
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
