Heidelberg Materials is seeking a field-based Quarry Operator to scale loose rock and operate scaling equipment in underground environments. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work in confined spaces, with routines that include inspections and basic equipment checks.

You will collaborate with a team to ensure safe, productive quarry operations while maintaining high reliability and compliance with post-offer screening and safety requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

• Scale loose rock from underground mine walls and ceilings to maintain safe working conditions
• Operate scaling equipment and tools safely and efficiently in confined spaces
• Conduct routine inspections of work areas to identify and address potential hazards
• Perform basic equipment checks and communicate maintenance needs
• Collaborate with team members to support safe and productive quarry operations

• Mechanical aptitude and comfort performing basic equipment inspections
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently in physically demanding conditions

Conditions of Employment

• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
• Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing

Work Environment

Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level

What We Offer

• $28.76 per hour plus an additional $0.50 per hour underground rate
