Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to scale loose rock from underground mine walls and ceilings, and to operate scaling equipment safely in confined spaces. You will perform routine inspections and communicate maintenance needs while collaborating with teammates to support safe quarry operations.

The role involves working in challenging conditions, with a base pay of $28.76 per hour plus an additional $0.50 per hour underground rate and a $2,000 sign-on bonus paid in two

What You’ll Be Doing

• Scale loose rock from underground mine walls and ceilings to maintain safe working conditions
• Operate scaling equipment and tools safely and efficiently in confined spaces
• Conduct routine inspections of work areas to identify and address potential hazards
• Perform basic equipment checks and communicate maintenance needs
• Collaborate with team members to support safe and productive quarry operations

Conditions of Employment

• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
• Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing

Work Environment

• Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level
