Job summary

Brakebush Brothers, Inc. in Wells, MN is seeking a Scaler for 1st shift to weigh boxes to designated specifications, perform temperature and metal detector checks, and complete required paperwork or computer entries.

This nonexempt role reports to the Production Manager and requires standing for up to 8 hours, bending, lifting, and twisting as needed. The successful candidate will work in a high-noise, cold-to-warm environment with PPE and safety protocols, and participate in team efforts to

• Set up and operate Wexxar and tape machine.
• Arrange packing room for the product being run.
• Perform frozen temperature and metal detector checks.
• Advise packers of product type and how product is to be packed.
• Weigh all boxes to meet minimum weight and counts.
• Check scale for proper tare.
• Ensure proper label, stamp and date code on boxes.
• Keep work area clean.
• May be required to bend, lift and twist frequently.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

• Set up and operate Wexxar and tape machine.
• Arrange packing room for the product being run.
• Perform frozen temperature and metal detector checks.
• Advise packers of product type and how product is to be packed.
• Weigh all boxes to meet minimum weight and counts.
• Check scale for proper tare.
• Ensure proper label, stamp and date code are on boxes.
• Keep work area clean.
• May be required to bend, lift and twist frequently throughout the work shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

High noise, varied temperatures (warm to cold), slippery floors, moving equipment and dust may be present. Wear appropriate PPE and other equipment as necessary or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Display positive attitude and teamwork skills. Must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day. Ability to frequently bend, lift and twist. Must pass company physical classification test for essential functions of the position (back and task).
