Description

Join our dynamic and rapidly growing team as a Research and Development Scale Up Technician. This role presents a variety of opportunities for career development, enabling you to evolve into a proficient water-soluble film machine operator with specialized expertise in technical data collection.

As an R&D Scale Up Technician, you'll be accountable for conducting a diverse array of novel and existing product experiments. Your role is pivotal in supporting product development through precise machine operation and meticulous data collection.

In this hands-on position, you'll expand your skillset as an operator, advancing through a series of qualifications that correspond to pay increases. Collaborating closely with operators, chemists, and engineers, you'll contribute to the creation of comprehensive trial records that bolster new product initiatives and push the limits of water-soluble film technology.

This role is an outstanding prospect for a hands-on, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual who thrives on the frontlines of cutting-edge technology with boundless application potential.

Responsibilities:

Machine Operation & Data Collection: In this key role, you'll shine as a machine operator, focusing on batch mixing, precise web handling, and intricate slot die coating. Your technical mastery ensures seamless execution of these complex manufacturing processes.

  1. Batch Mixing: Employ your refined mathematical and technical skills to achieve precise batch mixing, ensuring raw material proportions and consistency. Your ability to follow instructions and meticulously record data will enhance product quality.
  2. Web Handling: Take charge of intricate web handling, maintaining material integrity. Your precision aligns with our pursuit of excellence.
  3. Slot Die Coating: Operate and manage slot die coating equipment, a cornerstone of our manufacturing. Your understanding of the delicate balance between pressure, speed, and coating formulation will yield consistent, impeccable results.

Operational Excellence and Growth: Beyond primary responsibilities, ensure operational excellence adhering to protocols. Collaborate with the R&D team to glean insights from collected data, showcasing your critical thinking.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Experience (2+ years) in a manufacturing, laboratory, or production environment, with exposure to process operations and equipment.
  3. Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional record-keeping.
  4. Proficiency in software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  5. Effective communication, written and verbal.
  6. Flexibility for day and/or night shifts, and occasional 4-day, 12-hour shift work.
  7. Flexibility to work in both Portage and La Porte as needed.
  8. Background in industrial maintenance, particularly with pumps, liquid transfer lines, tanks, and ovens.
  9. Experience in developing and maintaining Preventative Maintenance plans for industrial equipment.
