Job summary

Foss Recycling Inc in Durham, NC is seeking a reliable individual to assist the Location/Scale Manager in ensuring accurate weights, material descriptions, and grades for inbound and outbound loads. You will process, sort, grade, and bale/box materials under supervision while operating ferrous and nonferrous scales.

All scale tickets must be verified for accuracy and include customer, material, weights, and photographs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to identify various metals.
• Heavy metals sorting and loading experience preferred.
• Drug test and background check clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Location/Scale Manager to ensure correct weights, materials descriptions and grades for inbound/outbound loads.
• Process, sort, grade, and bale/box materials under supervision.
• Operate ferrous and nonferrous scales; verify scale tickets for accuracy with customer, material, weights and photos.

Job description

• Assist the Location/Scale Manager in ensuring correct weights, materials description and grade for all inbound and outbound loads.
• To work under the direction of the Location/Scale Manager in processing, sorting, grading, and baling/boxing of all materials.
• Be able to operate the ferrous and nonferrous scales. All scale tickets must be verified and contain correct information in regards to customer, material, weights (including gross and tare when applicable), and pictures. No manual inputs.

Requirements:

• Preferred: A High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred two (2) years in scrap metal recycling environment.
• Must have the skills and ability to identify various metals. Metals must be sorted and unloaded in accordance with Company Policy. Must perform hands‑on work using equipment to move the heavier metals.
• Must be able to pass a drug test & background check.
