Job summary

EMR Group USA is seeking a dependable Scale Clerk to greet customers, record weights of incoming material, issue receipts, and maintain transaction records at our Slidell, LA site.

You will operate the scale, coordinate with yard staff, process payments, and help ensure accurate inventory control while learning industry‑specific procedures and safety practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; willingness to learn on the job.
• Proven customer service experience in a fast paced environment.
• Basic computer and information system skills required.

Responsibilities

• Weigh incoming and outgoing loads using an automated system.
• Communicate with yard staff regarding loads and receipts.
• Process inspection tickets and maintain inventory records.
• Retrieve data from information systems and update records.
• Maintain radiation detection system and stay updated on industry practices.
• Handle scale payments and answer phone inquiries.

You will be appreciated for greeting customers, recording weight of their incoming material with our automated system, issuing receipts and keeping records of transactions.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Weighs incoming and outgoing loads using automated system.
• Communicates with yard regarding incoming and outgoing loads.
• Processes inspection tickets for proper inventory control.
• Retrieves data from information systems.
• Maintains radiation detection system.
• Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and practices.
• Processes over the scale payments.
• Answers phone calls.

• Ability to operate computer and required software systems
• Excellent Customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
• De‑escalation skills when necessary

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Personal computer experience
• Knowledge of laws and regulations governing transportation and weight determination helpful. (will train)
