Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of customer service experience — scrap metal or construction industry preferred.
• Organized and detail-oriented — you keep accurate records and stay on top of multiple transactions at once
• Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines without cutting corners
• Strong communicator — comfortable working with all types of customers and all levels of management
• Computer proficient — experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and ability to learn in-house systems
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check

Responsibilities

• Weighs loads and processes transactions at the yard scale
• Verifies materials and purchases, and reconciles transactions daily
• Controls traffic flow and directs customers to unloading locations
• Communicates pricing and material specifications to customers
• Inspects incoming materials and flags non-acceptable items
• Coordinates with other scale operators to prevent duplicate purchases
• Maintains safety and housekeeping in the scale area
• Cross-trains in other positions to support teammates
