Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Union Springs, AL is hiring for a fast-paced poultry production role. You will weigh product, label boxes, and move 40–70 lb loads along the line, while maintaining ice coverage and accuracy on the scale.

The shift runs 4:30 PM–1:35 AM. Benefits start on day one, with emphasis on safety, teamwork, and reliable performance in a wet, cold environment.

$20.40/hour + $1,500 Sign & Stay Bonus

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

• Must accurately weigh product and place correct label on box.
• Lift and place 40 - 70 pound boxes of product onto track.
• Ensure proper ice coverage on all product around employee’s scale.
• May be required to dump product from lugs into a combo.
• Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, coworkers
• Do all tasks assigned by members of management
• Must be able to follow directions and work in other departments as needed.
• Must be able to perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Hatchery or relative poultry industry experience.
• Basic math functions and skills.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to safety requirements
• Must wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• PPE required but subject to change: Hairnet, beard net, shoe covers, gloves, smock, earplugs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC)
• Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift
• Will be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production
• Must be able to lift and push up to 70 lbs.
