Job summary

Steel Technologies LLC is seeking a dependable pack-line associate to ensure accurate packing, labeling, and smooth production flow on the shop floor.

You will follow sales orders, instruct the pack-line, weigh packages, enter data into the AS 400 system, and verify tags against orders. You’ll inspect outputs, document production steps, and help maintain inventory and equipment readiness for daily operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with at least one year of industrial or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow all order instructions and complete documentation.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry in AS 400.
  • Ability to use tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct and assist pack-line on proper packing instructions according to sales order
  • Instruct flow of packaged material to scales
  • Inspect packages to ensure proper material, size, identification, packaging, sample if required, and weight
  • Weigh package and enter into AS 400 system, generate tag and document on order ensuring accuracy of entry and documentation
  • Compare tag to sales order to ensure accuracy and full information
  • Balance production at end of order
  • Document and breakdown production as required
  • Account for all material and production flow to office at completion
  • Control flow to and from scales to storage
  • Perform routine inventory of tagging and packaging supplies
  • Check scales daily for accuracy

Here's what is needed to be successful:

  • Ability to use tape measures, micrometers, and calipers
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
