Job summary

BlueScope Recycling and Materials LLC seeks a detail-oriented administrative professional to collect information from customers, prepare purchasing and shipping documents, and reconcile daily transactions. You will follow OSHA safety rules, support pricing communications, and maintain strong customer relations.

Responsibilities include handling IDs, documenting seller and vehicle data, and aiding other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication and writing skills are essential.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Obtains required information from customers for transactions, complete purchasing and shipping documents and daily reconciliation of transactions.
• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
• Attend safety meetings and participate in safety programs.
• Responsible for following all legal requirements on purchasing materials (check ID, document seller, record vehicle information).
• Communicate pricing information and material specifications to customers and connect with all levels of customers and management.
• Ensure good customer relations by being courteous, safe, and professional.
• Interact with employees to verify/restrict duplication of purchases.
• Ensure metals purchased are correct and properly classified.
• Answer company phone calls and provide up-to-date market information to customers.
• Willing to cross-train in other positions and assist others as needed.

Company Description

BlueScope Recycling is a full-service, ferrous scrap metal recycler with processing facilities in Waterloo, IN, Delta, OH, and Mansfield, OH. BlueScope Recycling buys scrap from industrial generators, wholesale suppliers, and the general public, focusing on delivering the highest level of service. Summary: Obtaining required information from customers for all transactions, complete purchasing and shipping documents and daily reconciliation of transactions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Obtains required information from customers for transactions, complete purchasing and shipping documents and daily reconciliation of transactions.
• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
• Attend safety meetings and participate in safety programs.
• Responsible for following all legal requirements on purchasing materials. These requirements include, but are not limited to; check ID, take pictures of seller, record vehicle information, etc.
• Communicate pricing information and material specifications to customers with the ability to connect well with all levels of customers and management.
• Ensure good customer relations by acting in a courteous, safe, and professional manner.
• Interact with employees on other scales to verify/restrict duplication of purchases.
• Ensure metals that are purchased are correct and properly classified.
• Answer company phone calls, provide customers with up-to-date market information and transfer calls as needed.
• Willing to cross-train in other positions and assist other employees as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Strong communication skills to successfully interact with employees, management, and customers.
• Strong writing skills to effectively complete paperwork.
• Strong computer skills (working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel).
