Job summary

CMC is hiring in Houston to support its steel, construction reinforcement and ground stabilization operations. This role offers hands-on work across recycling centers, fabrication plants and manufacturing facilities with extensive training and supportive teammates.

You will operate production equipment, ensure safety standards, and weigh/price materials while coordinating scrap logistics and records. A high school diploma and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 1 year experience in recycling and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Basic computer skills such as familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations.
  • Operates production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Accurate identification of material to assign correct value.
  • Assesses weigh materials, inbound & outbound, and directs into the appropriate process area, as well as prices tickets.
  • Coordinate and process scrap carrier's information upon pick-up and outbound of scrap.
  • Identifies & weighs in-bound and out-bound metal shipments; provides quality customer service, and ensures customer specifications and contract requirements are fulfilled.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping of all documents related to deliveries and shipments.
  • Verify all purchases meet federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

What You'll Need
  • Able to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Minimum 1 year experience in either recycling and/or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Prior knowledge of metal identification is a plus
  • Basic computer skills such as familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
Your Education
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
