Position Summary

The Scale House Operator is responsible for operating weigh scales, managing scale computer and software data, data entry, and record keeping. The role involves ensuring trucks receive tare weights before loading, scaling and recording each loaded truck, and printing tickets.

Responsibilities

• Ensure trucks are properly positioned on scales for accurate weights.
• Operate computer systems to enter truck information and product data, and print accurate tickets for each load.
• Maintain a transaction log for each shift, performing routine data entry accurately.
• Assist with clerical duties as needed.
• Send transaction records and tickets to the jobsite office or owner’s representative.
• Tare trucks daily and record weights accordingly.
• Use computer software, including Excel and truck weight programs.
• Keep the scale house organized, clean, and maintained daily.
• Communicate effectively in English via two-way radio.
• Maintain high attentiveness and physical coordination to operate the scale house effectively.

This position is remote, with room and board provided at a work camp in Curry, Alaska.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least two years of experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Dependable transportation.

Knowledge and Skills

• Proficiency with computers, data entry, and tracking.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
